Macmillan supporters are holding coffee mornings all over the UK on Friday 29th September, and we are too. The morning is being organised by John and Peggy Rouse and they would like your help. John has written a note to you all:
Dear Friends and Colleagues
I like so many have been unlucky and have had Cancer. If you yourself have not I feel sure you have a family member or friend who has – all of us in some way have been affected by this dreadful disease.
Now is our chance to help. Please come and support our fundraising Coffee Morning and enjoy a tea/coffee and cake with friends.
If for any reason you are unable to come don’t worry we’ll still accept your cash. Please put as much as you can afford in an envelope marked Macmillan and give to either Peg or myself or hand it into the office or Hungers End.
The Macmillan philosophy is: ‘As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.’
They helped me greatly and we all know someone else who they have helped, now we can help them.
We hope you will not be offended by us trying to involve you in this morning and send our thanks in advance.
John and Peggy Rouse.
Date: Friday 29th September
